The Daily Express: Windows 10 will become dangerous — the OS will not receive updates.
Windows 10 users who have not installed additional updates for the operating system (OS) are in danger. This was reported by The Daily Express.
The tabloid's specialists reminded that in the first half of 2026, Microsoft will start releasing updated Secure Boot security certificates for all operating systems. These certificates are necessary to protect against the loading of unsigned and potentially malicious code. However, many Windows 10 users will be left without the Secure Boot update.
According to IT specialist Henry Burrell, Microsoft stopped broadly supporting Windows 10 in October 2025. Updates and patches are only received by users whose OS versions are registered in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. Burrell warned that without the new certificate, a copy of Windows will enter a state of reduced security.
The specialist noted that Microsoft offers Windows 11 as a free OS upgrade for all personal computer (PC) owners with Windows 10, but not all devices meet the minimum system requirements. Journalists from the publication summarized that a computer with Windows 10 may function properly — users are unlikely to notice that the OS's security will decrease.
