The artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT from OpenAI is implementing age checks for all users of the platform, with the new measures set to take effect in EU countries in the coming weeks.
Le Figaro reports this, citing a letter from the company.
To determine whether an account belongs to a minor, ChatGPT will use an age prediction system that is also employed by the Discord platform. In particular, the artificial intelligence will consider a number of indicators, such as the types of topics discussed or the time of day when the user enters the chat with ChatGPT.
If the artificial intelligence determines that the account belongs to a minor, it will impose usage restrictions. Some topics will also be handled with greater caution to prevent exposure to sensitive content.

It is noteworthy that the activity of chatbots has been at the center of a scandal following numerous reports that these platforms, including Elon Musk's Grok resource, generated sexualized images of children and women.
