Media's own sources revealed that this year Apple will introduce an affordable smartphone on Thursday, February 19. Thus, the iPhone 17e will be released exactly one year after the announcement of the iPhone 16e — that device was launched on February 19, 2025.
Journalists noted that the presentation day — Thursday — is atypical for Apple, as the company usually announces new products on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. However, Macwelt's sources are confident in their forecast. The authors also pointed out that there will not be a separate presentation for the 17e announcement — Apple will simply publish a press release on its website.
The report also states that the iPhone 17e will feature a MagSafe magnetic interface, which the iPhone 16e lacked. It will also support a more advanced standard of wireless charging — up to 25 watts instead of 7.5 watts for the 16e. Additionally, the device is expected to receive the A19 processor, which debuted with the iPhone 17.
