It released a video showing military trucks moving along dirt and forest roads, then unloading during a thunderstorm – in the final frames, the operational-tactical missile system "Iskander" is visible. According to the Ministry of Defense, the military is equipping the "Iskander-M" with carrier missiles and discreetly advancing to the designated area to prepare for launches.
Similar footage was also disseminated by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense.
Joint Nuclear Exercises
Russia announced the conduct of exercises from May 19 to 21, during which the joint use of nuclear weapons stationed on Belarusian territory was to be practiced. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense has been conducting parallel exercises of nuclear weapon combat application units since May 18.
Russia has transferred "Iskander" missile systems to Belarus, capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons – both for use on the battlefield and for limited strikes on distant targets.
Moscow previously announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, claiming that this does not violate the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
