Built-in Programs Broken in Windows 11

Built-in applications in Windows 11 have stopped working due to an unknown error.

In the Windows 11 operating system (OS), built-in applications have stopped working for a number of users. This was noted by the publication Windows Central.

Due to unknown errors in some recent updates, built-in programs have ceased to open. Users have complained about the Notepad text editor, the Snipping Tool, as well as several third-party applications. When launching these programs, computer owners encountered error 0x803f8001.

For instance, a user with the nickname Kave left a message on the Microsoft forum stating that he cannot open a Notepad file where he stores important work data. Users have also reported similar issues with Alienware Command Center, Nitrosense, Xbox Ally Armoury Crate, and other software.

"In most cases, this happens due to a corrupted store cache, a temporary issue with Microsoft account synchronization, or a store registration failure," said security expert Harold Milan to Windows Central.

Previously, journalists from Windows Latest called the Windows 11 update a disaster due to the large number of errors. The journalists noted that the update was released recently, but Microsoft has already acknowledged three issues with the OS.
