Apple will raise prices on smartphones—the iPhone 18 lineup will cost more.
Apple Inc. will raise prices on iPhones due to the rising cost of components. This was stated by the well-known analyst under the nickname yeux1122 in his blog on Naver.
The specialist analyzed reports from banks such as Citi, Bank of America, and JP US Investment Report and noted that prices for RAM and NAND flash storage are rising at unprecedented rates. The insider predicted that the iPhone manufacturer would not be able to remain aloof and would be forced to raise prices on its products by the end of the year.
The author of the report, yeux1122, did not disclose the exact prices for the iPhone but stated that Apple would implement a new pricing policy in the second half of the year. As a result, devices in the iPhone 18 series will be more expensive than the iPhone 17 devices.
The insider noted that Apple has always tried to keep prices for the iPhone—its main product—stable. However, due to the crisis in the memory market and the shortage of components caused by the boom in artificial intelligence (AI), maintaining previous prices will be impossible. At the same time, Apple will still try to ensure that the base models with minimal memory do not become more expensive.
