A hidden driver in Windows 11 has been found that speeds up SSD performance by up to 85%.
A driver has been discovered in Windows 11 that can significantly speed up personal computer (PC) performance. This was reported by Club386.
Journalists noted a new built-in driver for NVMe drives released by Microsoft for Windows Server 2025. According to them, the driver is disabled by default in consumer versions of Windows, but it can be forcibly enabled, thereby increasing the computer's speed.
A user with the nickname PurePlayerPC was one of those who activated the new NVMe driver. He noticed that this significantly accelerated the performance of the SSD drive. Another user, a Reddit visitor with the nickname Cheetah2kkk, reported that the driver helped him increase data writing speed on his SSD by 85 percent.
The authors of Club386 concluded that the new SSD driver is available to all Windows 11 users; however, its activation involves editing the registry, which carries risks. "For example, some users reported losing access to file systems on the disk but were able to recover them after undoing the changes," the journalists emphasized.
