Windows 10 became popular due to the fixed errors of previous operating systems.
Windows 10 remains popular because Microsoft has acknowledged and fixed many of the operating system's errors. This is reported by ArsTechnica.
Media journalist Andrew Cunningham noted that Windows 10 is still very popular ten years after its release. According to StatCounter, its share among Microsoft operating systems is about 40 percent. The specialist explained that Windows 10 has maintained its popularity because its creators fixed the errors of previous operating systems.
One of the reasons for this phenomenon, Cunningham mentioned, is that Windows 10 brought back a full Start menu and eliminated the 'tile' design reminiscent of Windows Phone. Microsoft expanded its public beta testing program, allowing regular users to suggest new features for the operating system. This new approach to product development is also linked to the departure of former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and the arrival of Satya Nadella in his position.
However, the journalist acknowledged that Windows 10 also laid the groundwork for future problems with Windows 11. For instance, it was after the release of Windows 10 that Microsoft began to collect more user data, aggressively promote other proprietary products, and established mandatory sign-in to the operating system through a Microsoft account.
