Graphics cards with 8 GB of memory will be enough to run most games.
Experts from Notebookcheck evaluated the amount of video memory needed for graphics cards to comfortably run games in 2025. The material was published on the website of the media.
Journalists stated that the question of upgrading graphics cards has recently become very pressing for gamers due to rising prices for computer components. They checked how much memory would be sufficient for graphics cards to run games. The specialists conducted an experiment. As a result, they named 8 gigabytes as a suitable characteristic for gaming graphics cards.
Assassin's Creed Shadows was able to run on a personal computer (PC) with a graphics card that has 8 gigabytes of memory. However, the gameplay was comfortable only at a resolution of 1080 pixels. For the new shooter Battlefield 6, 8 gigabytes was also sufficient, but the game only worked in minimal configuration.
"Overall, if you overlook some limitations, you can still enjoy modern games with 8 gigabytes of video memory," the authors of the media concluded.
