Deception? A Human Discovered Inside a Tesla Robot

The Tesla Optimus robot fell in a video — likely controlled by a person inside.

The humanoid robot Tesla Optimus fell in a video, sparking discussions online. This was reported by Electrek.

Over the weekend, a video was published from a Tesla party in Miami, USA, where the company’s humanoid robot was working as a bartender. The author of the video captured the moment when the machine swayed and fell. Social media users — including those on Reddit — noted that before the fall, the robot raised its mechanical arms above its head.

Media journalists stated that the Optimus robot made a gesture as if trying to remove something from its head, even though there was nothing on it. They speculated that the machine was being remotely controlled by a person who, for unknown reasons, had to take off their VR headset. "This movement is instantly recognizable to anyone who has used virtual reality or observed operators at work," the specialists concluded.

"The most human reaction I’ve ever seen," reacted Reddit user casino_r0yale to the robot's fall. "Looks like the operator took off the VR headset," noted nazachris1. "Optimus, when it realizes it was created for work, not just for dancing and running at parties," joked dallatorretdu.

In October 2024, social media users were already pondering that Tesla robots are controlled by people. They pointed out that during the presentation "We, Robot," the humanoids demonstrated quick reactions and behaved in a human-like manner.

At the end of October, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that he wants to control an army of robots. Musk mentioned this while discussing his future at Tesla and his influence on the corporation.
