Apple Plans Billions in Spending on AI

Apple plans to spend billions annually on AI from Google for Siri, Bloomberg reports.

The use of the super-powerful artificial intelligence model Gemini will allow the phone and tablet manufacturer to upgrade its voice assistant. For this, Apple will pay Alphabet (the parent company of Google) more than a billion dollars a year.

In addition to Gemini, Apple considered implementing ChatGPT from OpenAI and Claude from Anthropic but preferred the technology from Alphabet. The new AI model will process 1.2 trillion parameters, compared to the current model with 150 billion. This will improve the voice assistant's ability to handle complex data and understand context.

It is noted that the use of Google's technologies will be temporary until Apple sufficiently develops its own services. The launch of the updated Siri is scheduled for spring.

In October 2025, Apple became the third company in history (after Nvidia and Microsoft) whose market capitalization exceeded four trillion dollars. On the 28th, the company's shares peaked at $269.87 per share. Apple's market capitalization was $4.005 trillion.
