9to5Mac: the Adaptive Power feature has proven capable of extending the iPhone's battery life.
The new iOS 26 feature will significantly extend the battery life of the iPhone. This was reported by the specialized publication 9to5Mac.
The Adaptive Power option was unveiled in iOS 26 this fall alongside the release of the operating system (OS). The new feature analyzes the energy consumption of smartphones and makes adjustments to the iPhone's operation in case of increased battery drain. For instance, it can slightly reduce the screen brightness or decrease the performance of certain applications.
Journalists compared Adaptive Power to the standard power-saving mode. The latter forcibly lowers the screen brightness, stops many background processes, and reduces the speed of notifications. According to experts, the adaptive power consumption option works more delicately.
The article also mentions that Adaptive Power is not directly associated with artificial intelligence (AI); however, it has the same limitations as Apple's neural network, Apple Intelligence. The new option works only on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and on all devices of the new iPhone 16 and 17 series.
