Tesla recalls over 63,000 Cybertrucks due to lighting system defect

Tesla announced the recall of 63,619 Cybertruck pickups due to a software error that makes the front marker lights too bright. This may impair visibility for oncoming drivers and create a hazard on the road.

The issue concerns Cybertruck vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023, to October 11, 2025. Thus, the recall effectively covers almost all Cybertrucks produced to date.

The company has already released a free over-the-air software update to fix the malfunction, allowing owners to update the system without visiting a service center.

Tesla assured that it has not received reports of accidents, injuries, or fatalities related to this technical issue.

The company also recalled 12,963 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles due to a defective battery pack component. The malfunction could lead to a sudden loss of propulsion while driving, significantly increasing the risk of an accident.

Meanwhile, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched a large-scale investigation into 2.88 million Tesla vehicles. The inquiry concerns the Full Self-Driving system after receiving more than 50 reports of traffic violations and a series of accidents.
