Apple will skip the iPhone 19 and release the iPhone 20 in 2027.

Apple Corporation will not release the iPhone 19 in 2027. This was reported by the Korean publication ETNews.

Journalists cited Omdia analyst Ho Mu-yeol, who is close to the suppliers of the American IT giant. He stated that Apple will not release smartphones in the iPhone 19 series in 2027 because the company will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of the first iPhone that year. For this reason, the smartphones will be named iPhone 20.

The article mentions that Apple has acted similarly in 2017. At that time, the company celebrated the 10th anniversary of the release of the first iPhone and intentionally skipped the release of the iPhone 9. In one year, the company introduced the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.

Ho Mu-yeol also mentioned that in 2026, Apple will not release the base iPhone 18, only the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. As a result, the corporation will purchase about 20 million fewer OLED panels, but demand for screen components will stabilize a year later.
