The 'Starship' rocket from billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX successfully completed its 11th test flight, the company announced on Monday, according to LETA citing DPA.
The rocket launched from the SpaceX launch site in Texas, briefly entered space, and approximately an hour later landed in the Indian Ocean.
SpaceX characterized the mission as an "exciting" test flight and reported that a modified version of 'Starship' will be used for the next test.
'Starship' is the largest and most powerful rocket in the world. It consists of an approximately 70-meter booster rocket called 'Super Heavy' and a 50-meter upper stage, also known as 'Starship'. Both parts are designed for reuse after returning to Earth.
'Starship' is intended for the first crewed flights to the Moon since 1972, and eventually to Mars. The system is designed with the capability for reusability of both the rocket and the spacecraft after returning to Earth.
