The media specialists tested the battery life of the new Apple smartphones and compared them with competitive models. Thanks to the tests, the actual battery life of the 17 Pro Max was revealed to be 17 hours and 54 minutes. In comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro Max had a battery life of 17 hours and 17 minutes. The authors noted that such progress was made possible by the new battery with a capacity of 5088 milliampere-hours.
Competitive Android models fell short of Apple's flagship phone. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra lasted 17 hours and 14 minutes, while the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL lasted 14 hours and 20 minutes. In the test, the 17 Pro Max was only outperformed by the OnePlus 13, which worked for 19 hours and 45 minutes on a single charge. The journalists explained this lead by the 6000 milliampere-hour battery installed in the smartphone.
Other new Apple devices also demonstrated decent performance. The iPhone 17 Pro lasted 15 hours and 32 minutes, the iPhone 17 lasted 12 hours and 47 minutes, and the iPhone Air lasted 12 hours and 2 minutes.
