Former chief designer of Apple: because of the iPhone, people have become dependent on gadgets.
Former chief designer of Apple, Jony Ive, stated that many people have become dependent on gadgets because of the iPhone. His words are quoted by PCMag.
At a conference for developers hosted by OpenAI, with which Ive is developing an unknown artificial intelligence (AI) device, the designer noted that humanity has a complicated relationship with technology. "I'm sorry that you are all so dependent on your phones," said Ive, who is considered one of the creators of the iPhone, Mac, iPad, and many other devices. Ive worked at Apple from 1992 to 2019.
According to the entrepreneur, he is currently working on a specific gadget that will be "better than a smartphone." "When I say that we have a complicated relationship with our technology, I mean that it is an understatement," noted Jony Ive. The designer explained that his goal is to create a device that will "just work," without causing unhealthy attachment in users.
The former chief designer of Apple and associate of Steve Jobs also mentioned that the AI device will help make people happier and more satisfied. Ive declined to provide details about the future gadget, as well as its release timeline.
