Among the favorites are electric cars, hybrids, and classic sports coupes.
The year 2026 could become one of the most eventful for the automotive market in recent times. Auto experts predict the emergence of dozens of new models, but several of them are already being named potential hits. Among the favorites are electric cars, hybrids, and classic sports coupes, while competition between European brands and Chinese manufacturers is only intensifying.
Electric Range Rover
The launch of the fully electric version of the Range Rover has been postponed to 2026, as the manufacturer decided to conduct additional testing. The company hopes that this model will be the brand's key response to the increasing competition from Chinese electric SUVs.
The new model will feature a 118 kWh battery, providing over 300 miles of range under normal conditions. With a power output of 552 hp, it will accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and fast charging will allow it to go from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes. The estimated price of the model is over £100,000 (approximately 5,701,000 hryvnias — Ed.).
OMODA 7
OMODA is preparing to launch a mid-size hybrid SUV in January 2026. The model is equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery and a 1.5-liter engine, which together allow for a range of over 700 miles.
The interior features dual-zone climate control, heated eco-leather steering wheel, and a Sony audio system. The manufacturer offers a seven-year warranty, with prices starting from £32,000 (approximately 1,824,320 hryvnias — Ed.).
Renault Twingo
After the success of the Renault 4 and Renault 5, the company announced another model — the new Twingo with an expressive design and horseshoe-shaped daytime running lights. The electric car will be equipped with a 27.5 kWh battery, with an expected range of about 260 km.
Renault plans to keep the price below £20,000 (approximately 1,140,200 hryvnias — Ed.), which could make the Twingo one of the most affordable electric vehicles.
Tesla Roadster
After a drop in sales in 2025, Tesla hopes to reignite interest in the brand with the second-generation Roadster. According to the company, it will have a speed of over 250 mph and can accelerate to 100 mph in less than two seconds.
The car will feature a removable glass roof and a four-seat interior. The expected range is around 620 miles. The base price is about £160,000 (approximately 9,121,600 hryvnias — Ed.).
Honda Prelude
The updated Prelude attracts attention with its restrained design and expressive dynamics. The model has received positive reviews for its stability on the road and smooth acceleration.
A distinctive feature of the car is the S Shift system, which simulates gear shifting. The price of the model starts from £40,950 (approximately 2,335,209.5 hryvnias — Ed.), making it one of the most affordable options among electrified coupes.
Denza Z9 GT
BYD's premium division is preparing to launch the Denza Z9 GT — an electric car with a power output of 952 hp, accelerating to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 235 km/h.
The model is equipped with a 100.1 kWh Blade battery with a range of approximately 630 km. The estimated price ranges from £70,000 to £90,000 (around 3,990,700 — 5,130,900 hryvnias — Ed.).
Porsche 718
Porsche has revised its electric strategy and decided to bring gasoline powertrains back to the 718 Boxster and Cayman models. It is expected that the new modification may feature a 4.0-liter flat-six engine.
The representatives of the updated lineup are expected to go on sale in 2026 and will be among the most talked-about sports premieres of the year.
