2025 world champion American figure skater Alysa Liu won gold at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan, Italy, in the individual event.
It is quite a rare occurrence for an Olympic gold in women's singles skating to be won by the reigning world champion.
Earlier at the 2026 Games, Liu won the team event as part of the U.S. team.
