Latvia at the Olympics: today is a big day for hockey; also starting in biathlon and short track

As the Olympic Games continue in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Latvian men's ice hockey team will play their second match today, and high results are also expected in biathlon and short track, reports LETA.

At 11:00 Latvian time in Stelvio, Elvis Opmanis will compete in the first run of the giant slalom in alpine skiing, with the second run starting at 14:30 for the top 30 athletes who qualify.

At 13:00 in Val di Fiemme, the Latvian women's cross-country skiing team, consisting of Patricija Eiduka, Linda Kaparkale, Samanta Krampē, and Kitija Auzini, will start the 4x7.5 kilometer relay, while at 13:10 in Milan, the Latvian men's ice hockey team will play their second match of the tournament at the second most significant arena, "Milano Rho."

At 15:45 in Antholz, all four Latvian athletes — Baiba Bendika, Estere Volfa, Sanita Bulina, and Annija Keita Sabule — will start in the 7.5 kilometer sprint in biathlon, and at 19:00 in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Marta Anjane will begin the first of two final runs in skeleton. To conclude the day, short track competitions will begin in Milan at 21:15 for the 1500 meters, featuring Roberts Kruzbergs in the quarterfinals, with the Olympic champion to be determined over the course of two and a half hours.

The Olympic Games competitions are broadcast live on the LTV7 channel.

The Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo will last until February 22.
