Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was not included in the final list. The winger scored two goals in two matches of the Africa Cup.

Defenders: Ali Abdi (Tunisia), Axel Tuanzebe (DR Congo), Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso), Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco).
Midfielders: Carlos Baleba (Cameroon), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria), Brahim Diaz (Morocco).
Forwards: Sadio Mane (Senegal), Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria).
Coach: Eric Shell (Nigeria).
Earlier, the following national teams qualified for the Round of 16 of the tournament: Morocco, Mali, Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Tunisia, Senegal, DR Congo, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Benin, Sudan, Mozambique, and Tanzania.
