Center and leader of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic set an NBA record in a regular season game against the Clippers.
The game took place on Thursday, November 13, and ended with the Nuggets winning 130-116. Jokic recorded 55 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block in 34 minutes of playtime.
In the first quarter, the 30-year-old Serbian scored 25 points, which is the best result among centers in NBA history.
The previous record was held by Anthony Davis, who scored 24 points in the opening quarter in 2017. Jokic himself scored the same amount (2021), as did Joel Embiid from Philadelphia (2024).
