Novak Djokovic acknowledged that Jannik Sinner humiliated him and expressed a desire to swap bodies with someone younger

24-time Grand Slam champion, world number five Serbian Novak Djokovic commented on his defeat to world number two Italian Jannik Sinner in the semifinals of the Six Kings Slam tournament. The match ended with a score of 4:6, 2:6.

“The love for tennis and the passion for the game are still within me. Sorry for the bluntness, but it’s unpleasant to be humiliated like that on the court. Nevertheless, it’s incredible to remain at such a level. Being in the top 5 or top 10 is great. I’m trying my best. I have the body I have, and I’m grateful for everything life has given me. It has been an amazing journey, full of reasons to be joyful.

Of course, I wouldn’t mind swapping bodies with someone younger for at least a year to try to beat these guys. That would be cool. But joking aside — I still have the fire. I understand that it’s getting harder to beat Jannik and Carlos each time. But I will keep challenging them until I succeed.

I apologize for the match being short today. That’s his credit, not mine. I tried to put a little pressure on him in the last game when I got a point at 0:15, but it didn’t help. He was like a high-speed train, racing without stopping — hitting the ball flawlessly from all sides. Jannik was on top of his game. I congratulate him and wish him good luck in the final,” Djokovic said in a post-match interview on the court.

In the final of the Six Kings Slam, Jannik Sinner will face Spain's Carlos Alcaraz.
