Today, representatives of four ruling parties gathered for the first meeting of the coalition council. The partners agreed with Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs that, firstly, they would have to work without a summer vacation, and secondly, to hold Cabinet meetings not only once a week (on Tuesdays) but at least twice a week. The second meeting would be on Friday, allowing the government to focus on discussing strategic, politically significant decisions. Meanwhile, Tuesday would be reserved primarily for addressing technical and regulatory issues, where even coalition council approvals are not required.

It is worth noting that tomorrow the new government will convene for its first working meeting. In the closed part of the meeting, the ministers will discuss possible courses of action in case the conflict in the Middle East drags on and real negative consequences for the country's economy begin to emerge. Possible scenarios will be presented by Minister of Economics Viktor Valainis. The Minister of Economics will also report on the monitoring of the situation with fuel prices on the exchange.

In the open part of the meeting, the government will hear a report on the development of startups, that is, new innovative companies in Latvia.
