Andris Kulbergs promised to keep an eye on the new Minister of the Interior.

The Latvian TV program De facto reported this evening that the National Alliance has firmly demanded the appointment of Janis Dombrava as the Minister of the Interior, who has a political past that includes clashes with police at public events.

Kulbergs did not deny that the responsibility for this choice should primarily lie with the party, but he hopes that Dombrava's natural hotheadedness will not create significant risks. "We are talking about four months. It takes a lot of effort to ruin everything in that time. Of course, it is possible, but I also had a private conversation with Mr. Dombrava. I still believe that there should be new faces, we need to try to show ourselves, and this is that opportunity. If Mr. Dombrava acts against the interests of the state, against this stability, against important issues of internal affairs, and cannot cope, then we will act and observe," Prime Minister Kulbergs cautiously reassured.
