Экс-президент Латвии Эгилс Левитс

The former president analyzes the situation after the resignation of Silin's government.

Former President of Latvia Egils Levits today in an interview with Latvian TV suggested the possibility that... Silin’s government will not go anywhere.

"It is very likely that the resigned government may last until the elections. Despite the resignation, this government can continue to perform its duties, and there is no time limit set for this.

A technical government has no limitations on its powers. The constitution does not provide for a period of lawlessness, that is, without a government. A technical government cannot make any significant leaps in the Saeima, it is limited in implementing major projects, but daily management is possible," Levits stated.
