Foreign Minister Baiba Braže earned a salary of €108,644 last year, according to her official declaration.
This is about €9,000 per month. To earn €1 million, Baiba Braže would need to serve as minister for just over nine years, unless, of course, her salary is increased.
The declaration states that the minister owns an apartment in Riga and real estate in the Engure municipality. Braže also owns a 2021 Fiat 500X. The declaration notes that she holds financial instruments worth €117,203.
In addition to her ministerial salary, Braže received a salary as vice-president of the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO in education, science, and culture.
The Foreign Minister kept her savings in various accounts: €121.59 in the Netherlands-registered ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and €26,825 in Swedbank. Besides her salaries, the minister earned €3,545 in interest from securities.
Braže also sold property worth over €20,000.
As other income, the minister reported €216.50 from Compensa Life Vienna Insurance Group SE and €242 from The Economist Newspaper Limited.
Last year, Braže sold Latvian government savings bonds worth €105,000, purchased new bonds for €65,000, and invested a total of €40,000 in two investment funds.
