The opposition will ask to instruct the government to find funds for devices for patients with diabetes.
Tomorrow at the plenary session of the Saeima, the deputies will surely give the green light, meaning they will support the transfer of a special bill to the parliamentary committee that allows for the complete seizure of "super profits" from fuel traders. If traders attempt to impose a markup exceeding 3 percent, all the money obtained from such "price gouging" will have to be transferred to the state. It is expected that the opposition will be categorically against such a "confiscation" law on profits.
However, the Saeima will surely reject the opposition's proposal for another reduction in the excise tax on fuel, as well as the second initiative from the "Latvia First" faction regarding counting the entire period of childcare until the child reaches the age of two towards pension calculations.
It is unlikely that the Saeima majority will support the project prepared by the opposition's United List, which instructs the Cabinet of Ministers to find funds for purchasing analyzers for patients with type 1 diabetes.
On the other hand, tomorrow, amendments will surely be adopted urgently, that is, in two readings, which will require the Central Statistical Bureau to regularly publish lists of Latvian companies that maintain economic ties with Russia and Belarus. Notably, next week, the Saeima Foreign Affairs Committee will discuss how to reduce cooperation between Latvian companies and the Russian Federation and Belarus, as well as what support tools are available for Latvian companies that wish to reorient to other markets.
