Increase Pension Service! Deputies Introduced Legislative Initiative 0 11

The government is coming up with all sorts of ideas to save on the pensions of Latvians. For instance, not the entire two years of parental leave, that is, child care, is counted towards the work experience for pension calculation, but only one and a half years. Deputies from the 'Latvia First' faction have proposed amendments to the Pension Law, which stipulate that the entire period of child care within two years should be counted. The corresponding payment to the mandatory social insurance fund will also be made by the state during these two years.

The Saeima will consider the bill at the next plenary session - next Thursday.
