Another quarrel live on air.
This evening on the Latvian TV program Šodienas jautājums, there was again an "exchange of pleasantries" between coalition partners - the leader of the parliamentary faction "Progressives" Andris Šuvajevs and the Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze from the Union of Greens and Farmers. Krauze accused the Minister of Defense from "Progressives" Andris Sprūds of making an inappropriate comment - he implied that Latvia does not plan to participate in the operation in the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, Šuvajevs noted that at the moment when Sprūds was approached for a comment, no European NATO country had announced its participation in this operation, and an official request from the United States had not been received. "It's good that our 'green farmers' are not responsible for foreign policy," concluded Šuvajevs.
Krauze reacted immediately: "It's good that our 'Progressives' are not responsible for foreign policy, otherwise Latvia would be left without allies at all."
