As is known, this Thursday the plenary session of the Saeima will open with the annual foreign policy debates. And as a 'dessert', the deputies will have to decide whether to support the draft statement of the Saeima prepared by the opposition party 'Latvia First' in support of awarding Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize.
The leader of the parliamentary faction 'New Unity', Edmunds Jurēvics, stated this evening on Latvian TV that his faction does not support this attempt by the LPV party to divide society, but he refused to disclose how exactly the deputies of 'New Unity' will vote. "We have our own tactics, as well as plans A, B, and C," the deputy said.
The deputies of the 'Progressives' faction, according to the faction leader Andris Šuvajevs, will vote 'against', while the deputies of the third ruling faction - the Union of Greens and Farmers, as assured by deputy Harijs Rokpelņš, intend to support this draft statement of the Saeima!
