Among the deputies of the 14th Saeima, the highest salaries in November were held by Daiga Miereņa (National Alliance), who holds the position of Speaker of the Saeima, as well as by representatives of the National Alliance – Jānis Grāzbergs and Raivis Dzintars, according to publicly available information.
In November, Miereņa received a salary of 7635.65 euros, Grāzbergs — 5458.36 euros, and Dzintars — 5270.10 euros.
As for Miereņa, with such a monthly salary, her annual income will exceed 90 thousand euros. To become a millionaire, she needs to stay in the Saeima for about 11 years.
Deputy Edvards Smiltenš (United List) received 5307.29 euros in November, Antonina Nenaševa (Progressives) — 5371.04 euros, Andris Šuvajevs (Progressives) — 5078.85 euros, Jānis Vucāns (National Alliance) — 5017.92 euros, Andrejs Judins (New Unity) — 4989.72 euros, Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica (New Unity) — 4948.80 euros, and Agnese Krasta (New Unity) — 4948.80 euros.
Saeima deputies receive remuneration for their work from the state budget.
The remuneration of parliamentarians is automatically reviewed each year in accordance with changes in the average salary and inflation in the country. Deputies may receive an additional part of the payment for holding certain positions in the Presidium of the Saeima, factions, commissions, and subcommittees.
The monthly salary of a Saeima deputy in 2025 is 4330 euros before taxes. Parliamentarians are reimbursed for expenses incurred while exercising their deputy powers. They may receive compensation for housing rent and transportation expenses.
The maximum allowable amount of compensation is determined based on the place of residence. The closer a deputy lives to Riga, the smaller the possible amount of compensation.
