Every year, expenses on salaries and other types of rewards in public administration are increasing.
No established salary growth ceilings actually work. This is clearly visible from the graph of reward expenses in budgetary institutions in Latvia. The graph and his conclusions were published on the social network Facebook by the expert in statistics and economics of the Latvian Confederation of Employers, Jānis Hermanis:
"Total reward expenses in all budgetary institutions for the first 10 months of this year amounted to €3.46 billion - 6.7% more than in the same period last year. If the growth in all institutions had not exceeded 2.6% (the government's initial commitment), the total amount would have been €133 million less!"
