"It is a joy to watch Finland proudly stating that it has closed its border with Russia and is now increasing economic cooperation with the U.S. The Latvian government is doing the opposite - increasing economic cooperation with Russia. As if it (Latvia - Ed.) were not in NATO, but in the CIS," the tweet reads.

Many comments on this post express such emotions that they can only be published here in a truncated form:

• Sorry, but don’t drink from the well of delusion, the Latvian economy was and is based on Russian exports! The story with Finland is an inadequate comparison! Of all people, you should understand this! If 40-60% of business was with Russia, which brought profit, feeding families, now to refuse it - one must be a fool.

• Complete nonsense. The idea of basing the economy on cooperation with Russia is suicidal.
