Pianist Georgiy Osokin to Perform at the Small Mežotne Palace 0 15

For the upcoming performance, the musician has prepared a program that includes works by outstanding composers from different eras. The centerpiece of the concert will be the composition "Music for a Summer Evening" by Pēteris Vasks. This year, the Latvian composer is celebrating a milestone anniversary, and the choice of the piece is not accidental. Recently, a recording of this composition performed by Georgiy Osokin was released by the famous label Deutsche Grammophon as a kind of musical gift to the author for this significant date.

In addition, listeners will be able to hear Franz Schubert's Sonata in A minor, Robert Schumann's cycle "Forest Scenes," as well as the famous "Hungarian Rhapsody" by Franz Liszt in a unique arrangement by Georgiy Osokin himself.

According to the pianist, the Small Mežotne Palace holds a special place in his creative biography. The musician noted that this summer marks ten years of his collaboration with the palace and its owners, Regina and Andris Deichmanis.

"The Small Mežotne Palace has always been a special place for me, so I am happy to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our collaboration right here. The hospitality of the palace's hosts, their attention to artists and listeners, and their respect for music and art create a truly unique atmosphere. In such conditions, everything depends only on the music and the performer. I invite everyone on July 31 to Mežotne to celebrate this anniversary concert in one of the most beautiful places in Latvia, where, it seems to me, real miracles happen," said Georgiy Osokin.

Notably, the pianist's first solo concert at the Small Mežotne Palace took place exactly ten years ago—in the summer of 2016. Since then, this venue has become one of the important stages in his concert life, and the upcoming performance will symbolize years of creative friendship and collaboration.
