Why is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holding an Open Day in Daugavpils? 0 18

The Open Day will start at 11:30 in the media hall of the House of Unity.

During the event, the youth of Daugavpils will be able to learn about the work of the diplomatic service, the priorities of foreign policy, and current issues of security policy, as well as ask questions to representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event will be opened by the ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for special assignments, Juris Poikans, who will talk about the priorities of foreign policy and the profession of a diplomat.

Then, the head of the Directorate of Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Katarina Plateré, will speak about security policy, the geopolitical situation, the importance of NATO collective security, and support for Ukraine.

In turn, the advisor of the Consular Assistance Department, Dace Veidmane-Pundure, will inform about the work of the consular service, safety measures during travel in the current international situation, and risks associated with migration.
