The Gulbene County Council accepted a donation from the charitable fund "Zīļuks" amounting to nearly €29,000. This funding will be used to create a new children's playground in the Jaungulbene municipality.

€28,976.80 has been allocated for the construction of the playground. It will be located in the area of "Vīgriezes" in Jaungulbene.

Raimonds Okmanis, the chairman of the board of LaTS, emphasizes that the main goal of the fund is not a one-time charitable action, but long-term investments in local communities that bring maximum social benefit.

"We always strive for the donation to serve as many people as possible and to retain its value for many years. A playground is not just an infrastructure object. It is a place where families meet, a community is formed, and children spend time in a safe environment. That is why the fund chooses projects that create long-term social effects," says R. Okmanis.

According to him, Gulbene County was chosen not by chance. The fund has long been cooperating with municipalities and local communities where it sees initiative and readiness to maintain the created infrastructure after the project is completed. This approach allows the donation to be not just one-time assistance, but a real long-term contribution to the development of the area.

The charitable fund "Zīļuks" was founded in 2015 with the aim of developing patronage in Latvia and supporting socially significant initiatives. It is an independent non-governmental organization with public benefit status, independently determining the priority areas of its activities.

Over the years, the fund has helped create playgrounds in many localities across the country — in Vainode, Lizums, Valka, Jaunkalsnava, Daugavpils, Birzgale, Gauja, Cesis, and other places. This confirms the fund's consistent strategy — to invest in regions and strengthen infrastructure for families with children.

SIA "LaTS" was founded in 2007 with the aim of uniting small and medium-sized food retailers in Latvia, reducing their costs, and increasing competitiveness. Today, the network unites about 270 enterprises and has more than 700 points of sale across the country.
