Ukraine is preparing expert teams to be sent to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Romania to share experience in responding to drone threats, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Wednesday.
According to the information agency 'Ukrinform', the head of the Ukrainian state announced this at a joint press conference in Kyiv with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
"We agreed on the preparation of experts for Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Romania. They are already being trained. Dates have been set for when our experts will arrive there and share their experience. Just as we did in the Middle East. Their task is to help prevent future challenges, should they arise, including those related to the drones recorded in these countries," the head of state said.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is assisting its partners not only with expert knowledge but also with countermeasure technologies.
In March, Ukraine reported that fully equipped Ukrainian teams specializing in drone defense were sent to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia to help strengthen protection against drone threats.
In May, several combat drones flew into Latvia and exploded. Later, authorities acknowledged that these were Ukrainian drones that had gone off course.
