The beginning of June will be warmer and rainier, predicts the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.
Meteorologists report that warm air masses will arrive in Latvia at the beginning of June, and in most areas, the air temperature will exceed +20 degrees. However, it will be several degrees cooler along the coast.
On the first day of June, only isolated light rain is expected, but as the week progresses, rain clouds will cover a larger area. Thunderstorms are possible in some regions.
During daylight hours, when the sky clears, the level of ultraviolet radiation will be moderately high.
On Monday, June 1, clouds will bring light rain in some areas. In the eastern regions, fog will thicken at night, reducing visibility. A light wind will blow. The minimum air temperature at night will be +9…+14 degrees, in the southeast of Latvia and at the sea — +5…+8 degrees, while during the day the air will warm up to +16…+21 degrees.
On Tuesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 3, the sun will alternate with clouds. On Tuesday afternoon, rain is expected in the western and central regions, and on the night of Wednesday, some areas will still experience precipitation. During the day on Wednesday, rain will spread to most of the country, with thunderstorms possible in some places. Due to the light wind, fog will form in some areas at night.
Nights will become warmer — the minimum air temperature will be between +8…+13 degrees. During the day, thermometers will rise to +20…+24 degrees, but it will be slightly cooler along the Kurzeme coast — from +15 to +20 degrees.
In the second half of the week, summery warm weather will persist. A light or moderate eastern wind will blow. However, the influence of a large cyclone will strengthen, making the days more rainy.
