The rhododendron blooming season has begun at the University of Latvia (LU) Botanical Garden, announced the garden's director Renars Lagzdins.
This season, visitors are invited to explore both locations where the LU rhododendron collections are situated — at the Botanical Garden in Riga and at the 'Babīte' rhododendron nursery. Together, they showcase the largest collection of rhododendrons in the Baltic States.
Currently, the collection comprises nearly 50,000 plants, and the period of full bloom lasts only a few weeks. The most abundant blooming is expected in the next two weeks.
