On Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27, flights of allied forces' aircraft will take place over Daugavpils and the Augšdaugava region, reported the public relations department of the Daugavpils municipality.
During the flights, a higher level of noise is possible.
It is reported that low-altitude flights are specific military-tactical flights of military aviation (airplanes and helicopters). They are necessary for pilots to maintain the qualifications and relevant skills required for combat and other flights.
Low-altitude flights in the airspace of Latvia occur only at the heights and speeds established by regulatory acts, therefore the noise generated by military aircraft is temporary and does not harm people or property.
Residents are asked not to worry and to understand the exercises, as they are an important component of strengthening the overall security of the state and its allies.
