Next week, air temperatures in Latvia will drop several degrees below normal, and strong winds are expected frequently, forecasters predict.
In the next three days - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - the sun will alternate with clouds, and there will be brief showers in some areas, primarily affecting the eastern part of the country. On Saturday, a weak to moderate west wind will blow, and the air temperature will rise to +20...+24 degrees. On Sunday and Monday, the wind will become gusty, with maximum air temperatures reaching +17...+22 degrees.
Lower temperatures will persist on the Vidzeme coast and the western coast of Kurzeme, where the air temperature will not exceed +13...+17 degrees due to the sea breeze.
According to current forecasts, it will become slightly cooler on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, the air temperature across the country will not exceed +9...+14 degrees. Cool weather is also expected in the second half of the week. On certain nights, when the clouds disperse and the wind calms down, frost may occur in some areas.
Next week, rain will fall at times, with thunderstorms and hail expected in some places. The gusty northwestern wind may break trees and cause other minor damage.
