Next year, two working days are planned to be moved, falling between a holiday and the weekend - Friday, June 25, and Friday, November 19, according to a draft regulation developed by the Ministry of Welfare.
Next year, June 25 falls on the day between Midsummer's Day on Thursday, June 24, and Saturday, June 26, while November 19 falls between the Day of the Proclamation of the Latvian Republic on Thursday, November 18, and Saturday, November 20.
The working day on June 25 will be moved to Saturday, June 19, and the working day on November 19 will be moved to Saturday, November 13.
At the same time, in 2027, there are no plans to move Monday, May 3, which falls between Sunday, May 2, and the holiday on Tuesday, May 4.
As a result of the transfer of working days, the total number of working days in the calendar year will not change. The draft regulation will apply to budgetary institutions, which have a five-day working week from Monday to Friday. The transfer of working days is also planned to be recommended to municipalities, enterprises, and organizations.
