On Tuesday, May 19, an event organized by the Riga Municipal Police to open the swimming season will take place at the beach of the Lucavsala Bay, the police reported.
During the event, which will take place at 11:00, representatives of the police will inform about the current issues of the upcoming season, familiarize attendees with the technical support, equipment, and inventory for water rescue, and conduct a demonstration of rescue operations.
The event will be attended by Riga's Vice Mayor Edwards Ratnieks, the Chairman of the Committee on Safety, Order, and Corruption Prevention of the Riga City Council Girts Lapins, representatives of the Department of Housing and Environment, and the Municipal Police.
