Public servants will also become donors.
On Thursday, May 7, a blood donor day will take place outside the Saeima building, with participation from lawmakers and Saeima staff, and all those willing are invited to join this noble initiative. A specialized bus from the State Blood Donor Center (VADC) will be located outside the Saeima building on Jekaba Street from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
When going to donate blood, one must be in good health. Upon entering the VADC bus, blood donors must present a passport, eID card, or driver's license, as well as a bank account number if the donor wishes to receive monetary compensation.
Before donating blood, it is possible to fill out a donor questionnaire on the VADC website and print it to bring along. It is advisable to complete the questionnaire no earlier than three days before the blood donation.
The Blood Donor Center reminds that one blood donation can help three people in need. The blood donation procedure takes no more than half an hour. It brings satisfaction from helping others in difficult times and also improves the donor's health, including helping to restore blood composition.
