Bee on the Christmas Tree - the first four electric trains received 'forest' names

The first four passenger electric trains operating in Latvia have been named "Bee", "Owl", "Pine", and "Spruce", the media reported on Wednesday from the joint-stock company "Passenger Train" (PV), operating under the brand "Vivi".

It is planned that all 32 passenger electric trains will be assigned names related to the forest. Every month, four more trains will receive names.

The train "Bee" will depart for its first trip to Carnikava on Wednesday at 16:15, the train "Owl" will leave for Ogre at 17:24, the train "Pine" will make its first trip on Thursday, April 30, to Aizkraukle at 5:09, and the train "Spruce" will depart at 5:35 to Jelgava.

Maps of routes indicating nearby LVM recreational areas will also be placed in the trains in cooperation with the joint-stock company "Latvian State Forests" (LVM).

The names for the trains were chosen by LVM experts, selecting names of trees, birds, animals, and natural gifts characteristic of Latvia, reflecting the diversity and richness of Latvian nature.

Minister of Transport Aitis Švinka (P) noted at the event that this initiative is an example of cooperation between state enterprises and also reminds us that Latvia has everything necessary for quality, healthy, and eco-friendly recreation.
