From this date, the supply of heat will be stopped in all apartment buildings serviced by the Housing and Communal Services Enterprise and Daugavpils siltumtīkli.

Residents can extend heating in their homes if they wish. For this, a decision from the general meeting of owners and a written notification to the Housing and Communal Services Enterprise are required.

By the way, last season, Daugavpils had one of the lowest heat energy tariffs among large cities in Latvia — 66.79 euros per megawatt-hour. In comparison, in Riga and Jūrmala, this figure exceeds 83 euros, and in Rēzekne, it is more than 82 euros.

According to calculations, in the off-season (from May to September), the tariff may rise to 67.73 euros per MWh (+1.4%), and from October 1, it will increase to 72.43 euros per MWh. It is reported that the increase is related to the rise in fuel costs.
