A cold snap is expected in Latvia starting Sunday, which will continue into next week. Meteorologists also forecast a storm with strong winds and precipitation on Sunday.
On Monday, the weather will become sunnier, but gusts of northern and northwestern winds will persist, reaching up to 20 meters per second. Brief precipitation is expected in some areas, and the air temperature will be below +10 degrees.
Cold weather will continue in the middle of next week, with brief rain expected, and snow and hail are possible. At the beginning of May, a gradual increase in temperature is forecasted, but at night, thermometers may still drop below zero in some places.
On Sunday, during the storm, strong winds may break trees, damage roofs, and cause other destruction. The most destructive wind gusts are predicted in Kurzeme, Zemgale, and western Vidzeme.
