In Estonia, it has snowed heavily. When will the blizzard hit Riga?

Social media users from Lithuania, Estonia, and Belarus have filled their feeds with photos of snow.

The cover photo showcases the snowy realities of Estonia, while users from Šiauliai, Grodno, and other border cities of Latvia share equally snowy scenes.

When can we expect this joy to arrive?

According to observations from the LETA agency, there was already a blizzard in Zemgale on Sunday morning, but the snow quickly melted away.

Meteorologists reported that snow fell on Sunday morning in Alūksne, Bauska, Jelgava, Kolka, Stende, and Ventspils.

Riga is still holding on, but it’s uncertain how long it will last. Let’s not be shy, share photos of the raging elements, and even find some joy in it.

After all, snow in late April is a folk sign that heralds good news: it moistens the soil well, promising a high harvest and a good summer. In ancient times, it was believed that April snow foretold a year rich in arable land and harvest, and if mold formed during melting, there would be plenty of mushrooms.
