Free on Saturday: Open House at the Dauderi Castle in Riga

On Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the Latvian National Museum of History invites you to visit one of the most luxurious mansions in Riga for free.

"Dauderi" is a luxurious villa in the neo-Renaissance style.

Turrets, columns, spires in the spirit of a medieval castle, all of this is the fruit of the imagination of Friedrich Zeiberlich (1850–1932). A civil architect who graduated from the Riga Polytechnic Institute, he built several apartment houses and the Kimmel Brewery in Riga, which was located on Ritterstraße (now Bruninieku).

In 1937, it was "Dauderi" that became the summer residence of the country's president, Kārlis Ulmanis...

In short, you can expect luxurious interiors and an authentic atmosphere of an ancient castle, as well as the main exhibition telling about the twists and turns of the house's history and Latvia's cultural heritage. Additionally, there is a unique exhibition "The Era of Dials in Riga," which is also taking place here.

A great route for the weekend!
